This is our personal journal with a need to record below for our future reading. Hopefully we might be reading our chronicles in 30 years’ time. We do permit other interested people to view our travel journals, from our perspective sharing its joy with others. Thus, some of the below information at the time was common knowledge.
The 2020 world wide covid-19 pandemic, mayhem continued throughout 2021. (Our 2020 summary provides a good description of the “whack,” the covid-19 pandemic, impacted our freedom.) Watching our ruling authorities and their seemingly chaotic and different rulings enforced on their citizens, kept everyone in a state of confusion. An imposed direction one day only to be contradicted the following day was very unhelpful and a common occurrence. To assist with contact tracing for covid-19 each state and territory implemented their own “check in” app, on entry to any location or business you needed to check in. So we had a new app for SA, NT, Qld, NSW & ACT on our phone. We didn’t worry about Victoria’s app, we manually wrote our details on the shop’s sheet.
Like everyone else we just wanted a return to normal life stability and not have our lives turned into turmoil by too many chiefs in our governing governments. We experienced more chaos in 2021 than 2020 which is a mammoth statement considering the unprecedented hullabaloo of 2020.
Sadly, it was a period of uncertainty created by the covid-19 pandemic, where people were looking for good leadership from our political leaders. Woefully this was lacking with far too many chiefs spoiling any form of consistency with constructive leadership.
Early 2021 we assessed any permissible travel to be best focused in our home state of South Australia and the adjoining Northern Territory to be the safest destinations with due consideration of the pandemic chaos, Australia and world-wide. We decided to focus our travels to mostly in South Australia and we could escape the winter, crossing the border into Northern Territory for this period.
Memorable highlights – The native bird life in Gluepot Reserve owned by Bird-Life Australia, the fauna and flora of the beautiful rugged Flinders Ranges, the charisma of Litchfield National Park, the scenery and bird life of the MacDonnell Ranges and our love of our travelling lifestyle providing soul pleasing karma. A bonus with our love for seeking out those special remote locations away from crowded human destinations also helped to keep us safe away from the covid-19 pandemic hot spots.
We continued to enjoy the freedom of travel to some special remote locations.
At times we challenged our bodies with dare devil activities.
We experienced some lovely camp fire cooked tucker.
Most of all we loved the special Australian scenery, flora and fauna.
